Anyone ever have any problems with achilles/heel problems? Yesterday was nice for our area (about 55) and for this time of year, so I went with a group for an easy run at lunch. About 5 miles, all flat, zone 1 easy tempo. About 3 miles in and my heel started to hurt and after finishing it was real sore. Pain is at the back of the heel where the achilles meets the heel. Had been doing 20-30 miles/week for the last few weeks with no problems whatsoever, and yesterday's run was one of the easier ones of late.
Must have not stretched enough and with the cool weather maybe it was tight. Anyway, going to stay off the running for a few days, but spinning on the bike on a trainer there is no pain and had a good swim this afternoon. Any ideas on how long to stay off the foot for running?
