I have the opportunity to get a good deal on a custom Cyfac Mythique. I've tried to read up on Cyfac and so far have read only good things about the brand. I was wondering if anyone here has heard otherwise or knows about the Mythique (the tt or tri bike) in particular. I read one interview with one of the makers and he's a Ph.D. (forgive me for forgetting what his degree was in) and a triathlete. On Cyfac's website, they say that having steep seat angles does not make you faster and that there isn't research to support this. However, I thought that a steeper seat is also better for triathletes because it doesn't work the hamstrings as much-- saving our legs for the run.
The fact that it will be custom is really appealing and I know that I can get it with a steeper seat if I wanted. I'm at a bit of a loss because most of the people I know who know about bikes are cyclist so they don't care about saving their hamstrings.
Thanks for your help. I will definitely feel more confident going into the fitting if I have the opinions of some trifuelers in my pocket!
Set goals...... but be here now. Enjoy the ride to the finish line.
