IM age groups differ from USAT?
USAT considers your racing age the age you will be on December 31. I believe that any points for ranking would be based on that, not the particular age group you race with.
Right, and IMNA races use your age on race day.
Both USAT and ITU use the same system. Age on Dec. 31!!
They are making me older the next whole year!!!! :D will turn 30 on July 27th but will be racing 30-34 since the first race of the year!
Hyperactive Trifueler!!!! (I refuse to let the status go :p)
Welcome to my world dude. I had to race as a 35 year old all season even though I was really only 35 for the last race of the year, IMFL. I was bummed to not get my last year in the the 30-34AG...the times of my competitors are faster in the 35-39 AG...the worst part had to be the fact that the age on my leg during races was the older/not real age! That made body marking before races a less than enjoyable event. ;)
That is one rule I hated all year. I was 24 until july 31 and I had to race in the more competive 25-29 catagory. Yes I realize I am being whiney but I have come to terms with that :)

Upon reviewing my registration for IM Louisville I discovered that they have me in a different age group than my USAT age group. When I inquired, I was told that my group was based upon my age on race day. This seems odd to me. How then will the USAT calculate my points for that event? Which age group will they use?
The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.
