At this moment my current wheel set up is the Zipp 606 and I’m planning to get the new PowerTap SL 2.4, could anyone advice me if I could use my current wheels for training and racing, keep in mind that I do most of my week training on my trainer and on Sunday I do my long ride.

Thanks

If most of your training is on a trainer then I would get a cheap rear wheel and use that. No reason to put a bunch of mileage on a high quality wheel especially if you are just on the trainer.

I'm sure that the 606 set will hold up in training, but WHY do you want to train every day AND ride the trainer on a $2000 set of wheels.

ARE YOU CRAZY?

Go buy a super cheap set of wheels from Supergo, Performance, whatever for $250-300 and train on those/use them on the trainer.

Save the Zipps for the race, please.

EDIT: oh one more thing....IF you want to train and race with power (maybe why you are asking the question) get an Ergomo that gets power through the bottom bracket and is the same price as the PT 2.4 SL. That way you get power readings regardless of the wheelset you are riding and you don't have wear out your Zipps
