(or other holiday of gift giving)

Well my mom wants suggestions on what I want for xmas, and I'm not coming up with anything right now. What are some things you guys are asking Santa for?

I'm already getting a hott sexxy bike from the boy (at least so a little bird told me)... :D

WOW Kyillee you must have been a good girl to get a bike like that. I would also like a bike but I dont think I am ready for the Kyillee super bike.

That Planet X is sweet. I hope Santa brings it for you.

I am asking for a Fizik Arione Tri saddle and hopefully for a little bit of $ toward a carbon rear wheel in time for the summer racing season.

I'm hoping for a Garmin Forerunner. But that is a beautiful bike.

My parents, I think, figured out this year that we wanted tri stuff. Think about replacing those worn shorts, tops, jerseys, etc... (maybe a Trifuel kit!?) Or all those little stocking stuffer type things - race belts, new yankz shoelaces. DVDs like Spinervals or the What It Takes people have now released two new editions of the movie designed more for watching while training (i.e. more music, etc...). Maybe a tourguide book to Louisville, KY area?

Less tangible ideas: Paying the entry fee for a race you want to do. A gift cert to your favorite tri/cycling/sporting goods store or website. A donation in your name to the Challenged Athletes Foundation, Girls on the Run or another nonprofit of your choice.

Tell your mom to email me. I've got lots of ideas, but don't want to post them here and give away to my husband what HE'S getting for Christmas since he occasionally visits Trifuel. :-)
Merry Christmas!!

I've just asked for gift cards to the LBS so I can get exactly what I want. It's a lot easier than trying to explain to a non-tri wife and parents/relatives.

I am building up a Single-speed from an old 70’s vintage Bridgestone.
So I hope Santa brings whatever parts I need (track gears, crankset, BB, etc.)

Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be exchanging cycling shoes.

We're really excited, I'm almost new and she is brand new to tri's and we've never rode clipless before. Just switched our pedals today in fact.

I don't want anymore stuff for Christmas, birthdays, (you know, like knick knacks or a sweater that I"ll never wear), so I ask my family to give me $$$ toward whatever tri gear I want. Last year it was a wetsuit...and they gave enough money between them that I didn't have to pay anything! This year, its $$$ toward race wheels :D

There's a thread somewhere on trifuel of people's stories about starting to ride clipless. Bottom line: you'll fall, probably at an embarassing/inopportune moment.

PJT (who first learned to go clipless on a MTB, where at least my spills were alone and sometimes cushioned by dirt).

Oh, and on the OT, the Tri-stuff I casually mentioned to Mrs. PJT might make a nice gift are more trainer DVD's and maybe a set of rollers (speaking of falling...)

Sidi T1 carbon shoes and racing mizunos or asics.

I also need a new gear bag for the gym and to take my stuff with me for tris (like the one zipp has in triathletemag of Nov)

By the way.....I hope I don´t sound to shallow but if someone gives ME for xmas a donation in my name to a charity.....he´s OFF my list for xmas dinner. Or maybe I invite him to eat a can of cat food or something. Don´t know...... maybe for my b-day or some other day I wouldn´t mind.... BUT not for Xmas!!!!

Hey, Tikal! I know, and frankly me too! I love presents - I'm a total little kid at heart. My little bro, on the other hand, isn't terribly materialistic and would much rather a donation or just spending time together. But, she was asking for ideas for her mom and didn't know where her material vs altruistic desires as well as mom's budget lie so figured I'd come up with a bunch of ideas.

I realized that with ramping up my tri gear over the last three years I've been neglecting my real world wardrobe. Cleaned out my closet the other day and it's pretty emabarrasing. So, I'm using my christmas list to start restocking my closet. However, there is a pair of goretex tights on the list.:)

I believe Cayman was referring to a skit Arte Johnson did on TV where he was on a tricycle and stopped and fell over with out his feet leaving the pedals.

Obscure reference to the Laugh-In TV show of the 60s. Arte Johnson played a dirty old man riding a tricycle, the three wheel kind, and part of the bit at the end of the skit was Arte just falling over on the tricycle. It always looked like slow motion falling.

Anyway, if you're new to clipless pedals some people, me included, stop before they get completely unlocked and you just kind of fall over with the bike.

It can be very embarrassing.:o

I'm too young to know about Arte and Laugh-in  ...but I have a funny story:

A couple of years ago I was driving down the street and saw this older lady on an adult trike on the sidewalk. Just as I looked over at her, SHE FELL OVER! It is seriously the FUNNIEST thing I've ever seen! hahaha It makes me laugh everytime I think about it! I mean, really...how CAN a person fall OVER on a trike??? LOL Oh THAT just made my day! LOL

I'd like a Zipp 808 wheelset. That would give me almost unlimited race wheel combos!

SRMs are great but another excellent option is an Ergomo power meter. As long as you have a fairly even pedal stroke the only difference you will notice between the Ergo and the SRM is the $1500 price difference!

Of course no matter which way you go, a power meter is the best thing you can do to improve your riding (besides riding of course)!
