Alright,

After a long, and non improving cc season, I made my final decision of not doing track (which I hated since freshmen year..and im a senior) and not runing for a team in college. I am wanting, and have been for a while, to get into the longer races. I have more things I want to accomplish and College CC is not a high desire.

So to further my desire of competition, i just regestered for Ironman's Florida 70.3 at Disney in May.

Now starts the base training, and my unconventional plans!!

Just wanted to share my joy at 1:10 AM

If you get a flat, and don't have a tube, Suck it up and run it in!!!

Great to hear about the decsion, but now that you're training for Florida... no more staying up until 1:00 a.m.

Best of luck with the training!

Sounds like the right decision for you and the team. Gotta enjoy what you are doing.
Good luck going long.

Hard call, but probably the best one! It's all about the passion for it :)

Best of luck with the training to come.

Good choice…unless of course you are giving up some sort of real (or potential) college scholarship to run CC?
Then I would say stick with it a little while longer.
Sorry…that’s the dad side of me coming out...and quit staying up so late young man!

I have talked with quite a few college coaches but i have other things i want to accomplish than college running. I really don't like track at all..i love cc with a passion..but there are so many other things i wanna do than run for a team.

and both my parents support my decision ...they hate track too..lol..but they both understand with college and everything..so it's all good

Hate to see a great runner like you hang it up, man. I imagine you could get a ride just about anywhere you want to go. But if your heart isnt in it, then theres no point.

I also HATED track. Hated it. I was never as good on the track as I was in XC.

I would look for a school with a tri program (like UF) and hook up with them. I know they race collegiate nationals and all. It would be a good way to tri and still have some sense of team. That was the biggest thing I missed about not running in college, having a group as close as we were on my HS team.

You'll kick ass no matter what you do. See you at Disney.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
