Bringing Back My Orthotics

About 14 months ago, I was prescribed a pair of hard orthotics, to correct my over-pronation problem. Earlier this fall, I removed them temporarily from my running shoes and my regular dress shoes to alleviate pain from an injury. The injury has healed about 85-90%, but there is still a nagging discomfort, and I am regularly seeing an active release therapist.
Would it be wise to slowly re-introduce the orthotics into my shoes? From the time I had them prescribed, to earlier this fall, I didn’t have a single injury, to which I was greatly appreciative of.
What would you suggest? Thanks!

If you think you will get reinjured without them, use them again.

It isn't so much that I am afraid of getting re-injured, but I feel that implementing them will expedite my healing process.

Generally orthotics are issued for good reason, but there are definately times when you need to be discretionary about them. If the avenue is available, I'd recommend a quick chat with your original doctor who prescribed them, or someone actually in the field.

That said, as they were originally prescribed to correct a pronation problem, if you can use them I see no reason not to.

I was going to give you the exact same advice as Riverbrady!

Ask your doctor at least that's what I would do.
