Would you?
If you are going to do it, dont race it. treat it like a low HR training run and enjoy the experience.
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
I agree. It sounds too cool to pass up but don't overdo it. Just enjoy it.
As stated above, do it for the fun and take it real easy.
Any run can be a training run.:D
Nothing to it, but to do it

Oh...too cool! Have fun...and it's always nice to do a "first" in anything.

You seem like you are going to do it anyway. So, do it!!! Like everyone else, just take it easy and have fun. Don't miss out on an opportunity to do the "1st" of anything. It will be a good memory.

Hi guys, just looking for opinions here:
There's a 10k coming up in 3 weeks, it's through Dublins new port tunnel, and it's the only time it will ever be open to the public. After it opens the week afterwards, only articulated trucks will be allowed through it. There's a commemorative medal, cert, the whole lot, so pretty much every runner/jogger/walker in the city's gonna do it.
My problems are
1: I haven't ran since my first tri 2 months ago due to an ankle injury 2: I only have 3 weeks to train back up to the distance
I'm fairly certain i can work up to the distance, however, if my ankle takes a heavy enough knock, i'll be back to square one. It's on perfectly flat road, so potholes etc... won't be a problem.
I'd really like to do it, and probably will, but i was just wondering what you guys think.
It's off season at the moment, and a race would be nice to do. If there was a medal to get this year for running, i'd say this is the one to get, so I really would like to do it.
Anyways, what do ye think?
Cheers,
Bouli
