Has anyone ever used this version? I'm wanting to pick up a HRM and the S120 seems to have everything I need. HRM training is new to me, so I want something basic. I just need to know essential things like max/avg/current HR and time. The S120 will run me about $70-90 at Dick's, so if it's recommended I'd consider it a steal.

If you're not looking for the bells and whistles it works great.

DId you do the comparison on the polar website - its worth doing - it'll show you exactly what the differences are between the different models. The S210 is the next step up from yours.

My husband has that one and likes it--its a good basic model and has the backlight--important if you are like us and end up running in the dark 1/2 the year.

the S150 is the same model but with a bike mount that gives you avg speed, distance, and something else i think.

they are on clearance at nashbar for $70.

hope this helps.

I have a S120.... it sucks not having a backlight but it is OK for what it is intended.

I have the S120 but I am upgrading to the S625x supercomputer-races-for-you HRM. I want all the info. The S120 is a great intro HRM...but switching between training zones is cumbersome. I use it on Basic mode most of the time.

I agree with the backlight comment! Actually, I bought the 720i later for that very reason. However, the S-120 is much easier to use and really gives you everthing needed. If you train in groups you may want to invest in a coded chest strap. If not you'll pick up other signals...things get goofy.

That's the one that I have and it works fine so far. Having one that mounts on the handlebars would be very handy though.
