I need your help putting together a schedule
I'm not sure what your goal is (just running fitness? hope to do a tri soon? What distance tri?) but check out http://www.trifuel.com/triathlon-training/ -- it has a number of different training plans.
For core, check out posts by kona_expat -- in particular http://trifuel.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6572 as she has put up some good ones.
For swimming, check out that section of the forum -- geochuck has posted some great workouts, sites, and tips.
Good luck!

I'll second that. I used the Training Bible to write out my schedule for the next year.
Thanks, I’m already very fit I just need to adjust my body some to do more things then run, so that’s my goal. I’m sure I could go out and do a tri today, but I’d like to learn more about each sport before doing so. I'm sure my distances will very as I'll probably start out with some local tri's just to learn about the sport. After that I can define my distance some more.
Still, Friel is there for that. Go to the library and look at the book if you don't want to buy it. I am also not a beginner tri person but use it for my training. My entire program is based on it. See my blog for clarification. Good luck, just trying to help.

Okay-
So yesterday, I did my long run, and though getting my endurance back was hard, I was so happy after about 12 or so miles. I ended up doing 18, and felt great. Got up this morning, had breakfast, and set out on a great rided, though longer than I anticipated; 30 miles. Hadn’t ridden this distance in over a month. Came back to school this PM, did a light recovery run (3 miles max) on the trails. I am so, dead tired now. All my body feels good, besides a bad cramp in my right calf.
I am fearful, that because I was out for so long, I may be setting myself up for overtraining.
Are there any principles I should look for or things to do to expedite recovery?
I just don’t want to over-train; Been there, done that, it isn’t good.
Thanks all!

I'm going to get that book don't worry, I'm just stating my goals and where I'm at right now. I still feel very lost on my own, I think this book will help me get some direction with my training.

I was hoping to get a trainer for the off season but I cannot afford one at this time. I know running drills, but right not XC season is over and I'm sort of lost as far as schedule go. My plan is to train over the winter keep my endurance up, work on swim form, and build some muscle. Right now I’m doing one sprint workout/hill work out at level 5 a week, running 70 minutes at level 1 on the weekends. The rest of the days are spent doing a few miles 5/6 and then doing a core workout in the gym. I need to know some things I can do to strengthen other parts of my body other then my core and preferably in a way that will build athletic muscles, not just body builder muscles. I’d also like to know some swimming workout/forms drills. If you guys could help me put together a weekly/monthly workout plan that would be a great help.
Thanks.
