What brand do you trust more? Ironman?

I would like to hear from you guys since I am NEEDING one because of the sun (it is beginning to get hotter here, summer!) and because of bugs getting your eyes.

Well I can tell you one thing for sure........

DON´T BUY NIKE. Real crap! In less than a year the lense covered up with bubles. Like the kind you see in cheap polarized vehicles.

I have a pair of Rudy Projects but I don´t use them for racing (they are too special for me)

I was considering a cheap lens for races such as the brand that carries the Ironman brand (don´t remeber the manufacturer name) But I beat you know what I mean if you talked about IM lenses.

Tifosi makes good quality glasses at a good price--you can find multi-lens pairs here for around $50. If by Ironman you mean Foster & Grant's Ironman (TM) glasses, I would not recommend for riding--they are cheap but they fall apart easily.

I have about 3 pair of Oakleys minutes I wear for running---the rubber on the sides of the ear pieces keeps them from moving at all . the 1/2 jackets are nice for riding but I wear the minutes for everything really.

I've got two pairs of Rudy Projects and wouldn't wear anything else. The lenses are interchangeable, and Rudy Project has a lens replacement program that is unbeatable. For $15, they will give you replacement lenses as long as they still make the glasses.

Eyewear is really a fun part for me to buy...
Oakley half jackets are really nice...the lenses are great quality and the whole rig is very confortable...they are always at the top of their game...
Tifossi, I like them mostly because the reasonable prices...and the models are pretty neat.
Please stay away from brands like Nike o Puma, they are really bad...I got as a present a Puma pair...they are really crappy, not to say that the lenses are just junk.

Can't go wrong with Tifosi. I've worn mine every day and through every race for the past two years with one or two minor problems with the nose piece. Got mine for $50...definetley got my money's worth. Can't go wrong.

I have a pair of Rudy Projects and I like them a lot. Besides the interchangeable / replacement lenses options, I like the fact that they will stay on top of my head when I have a cap on and they won't fall off. You can adjust the arms (or what ever they are called) so to adjust the grip on your head. I was going to try out a pair of Tifosi's, but I haven't yet.

I have worn Oakley products for over a decade. I tried Rudys as well, but they dont fit me as nicely -- they tend to move around a bit. My current model for sports is the Half Jacket, as others have mentioned. I absolutely love it.

As far as lenses go, you don't need anything special; all of Oakley's lenses are polycarb, and will block UV. If you like a polarized lens, go for it. Personally, I use the Slate Iridium lenses on my Half Jackets. The lense is only slightly tinted, and I bought it intending to use it on overcast days only. However, it good even in the brightest settings, so I use the lense all the time. I can't recommend this setup enough.

I've got a couple pairs of M-Frames that I've had for over five years. Interchangeable lenses, light and tough.

Though I've been looking at Rudy's lately on most of the faces that I ride with and you can;t beat that lense replacement policy of theirs.

Rudy Project glasses are the S**T!!!!! i love my Rudy's. i have prescription inserts in my Rydons, they are awesome. even with the prescription insert you can still use all their lenses. the fit and feel can't be beat. plus you can buy "rebuild" kits to replace the rubber parts. I can't say enough good stuff about Rudy Project glasses. the amount of lens choices is pretty awesome as well.

just my 1/50th of a dollar.

i've got some Performance Bike sunglasses with interchangeable lenses. they've been reliable for a year so far. If they break or get lost, they were less than $30...

Thank you very much for your input!

I was having a close watch on sunglasses prices here and they are fairly expensive! Some Oakleys are R$ 600,00 (US$ 270,00 roughly). I am going to look after Rudy Project.

I have never seen a Tifosi here!

Have to second the Natives. I ran through various ones and these have been most comfortable glasses I've worn...and I've never been able to get them to budge from my face, despite the fact I can barely tell they are there.

I've had the rudy project rydon sx for 2 years and lot it. had to replace the rubber parts once, but that's easy...
I also use the prescription insert for those days when I don't feel like contacts and my eyes are worse than they recommend using it for, but it works just fine...

I have had a pair of Oakley M frames for 8 years now and they are still fine, especially on the bike. I love the half-jackets for running and the titanium shade frames are excellent when it is both sunny and slightl overcast.

Another vote for Rudy's if you want good glasses.

But if you are looking for cheap, the Performance bike glasses are decent. I use them for some rides, and for adventure races where things are more likely to get sat on/stepped on/thrown in the bottom of a bag/thrown off cliff/torn off by waves/etc. The ones I got were either broken or broke the first time I wore them, but just slightly, and I still use them (sometimes one lense slips a little, but its never been a problem).

I would buy either of the ones I have again.

I also like the Tifosi, very good for the price point. I wear the Gavia. I use to wear Oakleys but I lost an expensive pair and don't want to go through that again. Haven't owned Rudy but have tried them on. They are nice. Good luck.

The Ironman branded sunglasses are made by Foster Grant, I think. I buy those at Target for $20 and never worry about them!
