Triathlete home-stay supporters
I'll start us off...
I'd be interested in providing a couch for triathlete(s) (or other athletes perhaps) coming to my area.
I live in Monrovia (just east of Pasadena) in Southern CA: zip is 91016 if you'd like to map it. I'm about 15 miles from Bonelli Park, where many races are held. About a 30 minute drive from Ontario Airport, 45 minutes (depending on traffic) from LAX, and 45 minutes from the Santa Ana/Orange County airport.
No extra room, but a comfy couch :)
I'll hop in here :)
Austin, TX. Generally always have room if I'm in town...always have a futon available. I know there are a few of us in Austin...just haven't met the others yet.
I'm close to the center of town...off of 44th street. It's about a 30 min drive to the airport, about a 30 second walk to the network of bike/run routes, about 4 miles from downtown.

I have a couch someone could use. I'm in Houston, near the Galleria.
Vancouver BC for a stay before going to IMC (Penticton) if anyone wants.

My Blog
I am in NJ but probably moving soon within the state.
Maybe we can have tribro set up a permanent link on the front page to a Bulletin board of willing hosts and those looking for a place to crash.
Tribro?? How about it?? :D
Pretty please??
Update-11/21/06 Moving into a new place.
in Madison NJ. Will be re located by January 1st. Less than a mile to the train, for access into NYC.
Good to know that, folks! I might travel for tourism + tri-race in 2007! I am still deciding on what race and what country!
My Blog: http://ggalvao.trifuel.net/
I'm in...Washington DC area...thirty minutes from the Columbia Oly. Two hours from Eagleman and Chessieman. Lots of great road races, ultras and tri's.
Come on Dad! (tribro) Pleeeeease?
And... .Kyillee...you meant couch,right?
Oh...two cats, Loving wife. (For those of you with allergies to either)

Tampa, FL Couch and have an inside dog, so heads up for those with allergies. I attend most of the larger races around here, so I would likely be able to provide transportation, too.
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
Goleta, CA (Santa Barbara area), there are really only 2 tri's near here and not many other big races; but I'd be happy to host, can provide space for 2-3 and possibly transportation. House has a dog. I would also be happy to be hosted in other locations!
Well....
Guatemala, Guatemala!!! The only worthy race for traveling from the states to Guatemala actually takes place in Peten (I need an hotel there) but if anyone is interested. You are more than welcome in Guatemala City.
kyillee if it´s beer and Chocolate GU you are requesting.... I would expect some razors too. :D
Hyperactive Trifueler!!!! (I refuse to let the status go :p)
Milwaukee, WI. Spare bedroom & about 8 well-run triathlons within driving distance on race morning. House is a bit of a zoo--with 2 dogs and 2 cats.
Pittsburgh, PA
the home is always welcome to fellow triathletes

Possibly charleston, sc in the near future will repost if so. Is anyone in here from charleston?
Trevor Douglas YOU ARE AN IRONMAN!
For anyone wanting to travel and/or race internationally...Triathletes racing or just visiting are welcome to stay in my family's house. We have 5 acres, 3 horses, 4 dogs(outside), and 2 cats(inside).
We are 30min from downtown Perth(largest city on west coast of Australia with just over 1 million people). The state of Western Australia is about 1/3 the size of the continental US but only has a little over 2million people.
Perth is less than 2 hr drive from Busselton which has IMWA in December and Busselton-half in May, both world class races, would provide transportation and accomodation as I go and volunteer.
Perth has a race packed season with more than 20 races on the calendar. Our season is opposite to the US's as it is from Nov-May. So if anyone is interested in doing IMWA one of the first IM qualifiers for Kona or just visiting or wanting a warm holiday during the colder months in the northern hemisphere just come on down. Southeast Asia is right next door with flights from Perth cheaper than flights from Perth to the east coast. So IM Malysia or Laguna Phuket Triathlon (which I would consider doing if someone else was) are also not too far.
Cheers,
Todd
Bumpity back to the first page ;)
...and a note, if anyone is planning on the Lonestar Triathlon Festival in march/april and cares to split lodging, let me know. We should have a large contingent of TexasIron down there for the race, especially and they're helping sponsor.

I am doing the Buffalo Spring HIM in June. Not exactly in Austin but if you know anyone around Lubbock let me know because I would love to hook up with some people for some tapering the week of the race.
Team Planet X Tyros

We generally always have at least a few people heading up there (not sure on numbers this year...haven't seen half the club in a bit since it's off-season/rest break).
If you want to send me a PM or email I can check around and let you know what I find out.

I doubt anyone would want to come to Columbus, Ohio. But if you did, we'd certainly put you up.
Speed hurts; how fast do you want to go?
Why wouldn't I come to Ohio? Ya'all have some great races!
Where is that HFP schedule?

Seattle, WA. 25 mins from SeaTac Airport. Decent amount of races (tri, mary's, etc) in the general area. Got a couch and sometimes an extra bed (roommate that's never around). I can most likely provide transportation with enough notice for work.

Hey, Sling! We'll be in Worthington/Westerville this weekend! Fat Rabbit Racing was a great tri in August.
Welcome back, Tamara. You should have nice weather while you are here. Converseley, I'll be headed to DC next week.
I am glad you liked the FRR; they do put on some of the best races in the Midwest, and Craig and Scott are just great guys. I'll do most of their races every year.
Speed hurts; how fast do you want to go?
I live in North Phoenix near the 51 highway which would take you approx 20-30 min to get to Tempe, 20 min to Chandler....etc etc. There is a Whole Foods 5 min from my house as well as some other great healthy restaurants. I have a spare bedroom that is available for anyone racing in IMAZ, I do have a black lab so must not mind occasional dog hair :).
Sunny Tucson,AZ here with a spare bedroom to anyone who needs it. We have a few shorter tris here all are welcome!

Check out my blog!

There has been the idea of hosting triathletes that want to compete a bit farther from home in our own homes. So why don't we make a list of people offering their homes? This list can then be used as a resource for Trifuelers trying to fig ure out if a certain race is a good one (based on if someone is in the area) and where to stay for it!
If you are interested in hosting, please post your general location. If you move, just edit and update your original post so that the list remains as usable as possible!
If you are looking for a host, please send a private message to the person you are interested in visiting (to keep this thread clear of all the interested posts). Then please be a good guest to keep them on this list for the rest of us! That can include bringing chocolate and/or beer with you :)
Disclaimer: All those who post their interested can of course only host those people they want and when it works for them and their families.
