Gah, of all the things...

Sorry to hear about the breakin and loss. Is insurance not covering anything?

In case you haven't already, the most common things we do in Austin (after talking to the authorities):

  1. - make the rounds at the bike shops, used bike shops, and pawn shops. Offer a reward if found. Make sure to note anything that can be used to identify the bike.
  2. - Keep an eye on Craigslist. http://puertorico.craigslist.org/ or http://puertorico.craigslist.org/bik/ for your area. I've known people to post about the stolen bike. I've known others to watch the posts and go look at bikes that match their stolen bike's description. If there are any notable marks, dings, or the like on your bike, note it on paper with a witness before you go look at the bike.

Can't really say much about new bikes myself, as I haven't shopped around for a couple years. Here's crossing my fingers for ya.

tough one! my advice is to look for your bike like the others said. As it is not a 'common' bike you might have success!

Good tips Jeremy.

corkfeeninpr-

Do you own your house or do you rent?

If you own the house your homeowners insurance should cover it If you have the receipts you can establish the value to replace.

If you are a renter do you have renters insurance?
If not your landlord should be covered and maybe you can talk to them.

I don´t know how PR works in this types of cases but all I have read are things I could only dream of here in Guatemala.

Bastards!!

Here in Guatemala you would have lost it for sure.... no available insurance for things like bikes etc. Arghhhhhh I don´t whant to get into that subject..........

If you DO find your bike make sure you beat the "#$&%$ out of that !"##!%%#!!!!

Tikal. Pointless Violence is not the answer!!

However,
if you found the thief,
chain him to the back of your bike,
and drag him around the streets for 30-40 miles...

That is violence with a point.
You get a great workout and revenge.

Seriously Good luck on getting you bike back or insurance.

I guess I know what you mean! But hey......... I like beads proposal.

Since the guy who stoled your bike seems to be interested in the subject I would consider Beads idea and turn this guy into an IM by dragging him 140.6 miles in an XTerra type of event.

mmmmm after these coments I guess I only be allowed into Texas. But I can´t help it. Criminals just bring out my dark side.
