Rode with Bobby Julich (Team CSC) this morning!!!!!
Very cool that he rode at a slower speed and was so friendly. Cycling needs alot more guys like Bobby Julich to spend time with the fans and help repair the sports rep.
Great experience and glad you shared it!!!

That is very cool.
It does restore your faith in professional athletes.:D
Nothing to it, but to do it
triathlon is awesome for super nice pro's. The last Tri i got back from had all the pro's competing, and they all came to the after party. Emma snowsill and Craig Walton gave us all their time and and let us take photo's with them at the after party. they even chatted to us gave us some training tips and heaps of other stuff. Chris McCormack was even there and he let me and my team mates sit and chat, we even had a beer together!
they are the coolest people ever.
Speed Kills. Strength Punishes
that is awesome, and your day does win! Definitely makes me think higher of him :)
Totally cool! That would make my day, month, and maybe year to run into him like that.
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
That is cool. Thanks for sharing that. Nice to know that he is still grounded like that. Very nice.

wow, a ride with Bobby.. that rocks! thanks for sharing, it's great to hear there's someone in pro cycling that takes the time to hang with people. i'm sure that's a ride you'll never forget.
That is sweeeeet! Hopefully you'll run into him out there again.
Very cool!

This morning at like 10am i was riding out on through Manayunk into the outskirts of philly (valley forge) when who do i see? Part time philly native, professional ride Bobby Julich. At first i thought to myself, "who is this putz decked out in all this team CSC stuff"...then i saw the Cervelo Soloist, the power meter, the team csc helmet and shoes and immediately knew who i was dealing with.
I rode up right along side of him and said hello. Let me tell you, nicest guy ever. He said he was going out the same way that I was, and was doing about the same mileage. Asked me to ride with him since its so flat and boring after awhile, and i definately obliged. Hahah sorry if i sound super corny, but I had the biggest **** eating grin ever on my face the whole time. We ended up doing like 45 miles, laughing it up and cracking jokes the whole time. He was SUPER nice, asking me questions about my Drexel University cycling team and where I'm from and stuff, just a generally down to earth guy.
He and his wife just had their second little girl and he was in town for a few extra weeks before he heads out to training camp with CSC after christmas. He never went to college so he was asking me all types of questions about partying and stuff, hearing a 34 year old professional cyclist talk about that was surreal. I told him that if he ever reconsiders college to come to Drexel and be on our cycling team haha.
Anyhow, just wanted to fill everyone in on how cool of an experience I had this morning. Alot of people we rode by would yell, "Bobby!" "heyyy Julich!" and stuff, they were probably wondering who the shmuck along side of him was haha.
Dunno how many Philly riders we have here but he said he rides that trail twice a week to do his recovery rides after lifting, so if you see him out there flag him down. He's real approachable, I wasn't expecting that at all.
We averaged 18.5mph for 40 miles, and his Cervelo Soloist Team he spoke VERY highly off (he preferred that aluminum bike over the RS2.5 carbon fiber in the paris-nice and couldnt say enough good things about it)
HOW COOL IS THAT!? I've always been a huge CSC fan because of Jens Voigt, so i've known Bobby and followed his career for awhile. He's been around so long in the sport, it was cool to pick his brain for awhile.
