Well, my Trek bike computer died.
Looked through the gear selections for ideas on a new one.
Any one know anything about the VDO C3 DS Wireless Computer w/ Wireless Cadence?
Or have another option - must have cadence.
Thanks!

Cateye Double Wireless. Cant say anything about the VDO as I have not seen or tried it.

Cateyes product is top notch. I have had two problems with it that customer ervice rectified immediately witha replacement, even though both problems were my fault.
1) mounted the computer odd trying to get it to fit a certain way on my new bars. Mount came apart during a race. Replaced.
2) sending unit shifted on chainstays, crank broke off the cadence sensor. Replaced.

I would mount the sending unit with some RTV sealant to make a stronger bond than the stock glue.

I give the CDW 5 stars.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

I second the nomination of Cateye Double Wireless computer. They stand behind their product 100%, if you ever have any problems they will make it right. Cateye also makes a wireless computer with cadence and heartrate monitor (displays all information on a computer similar to the double wireless. I haven't used one, or seen one, but I've seen them in the Quality Bicycle Parts catalouge (at the bike shop I work with). They're not on the Cateye website, but if you went into your LBS and asked them to order this new one for you, I'm sure they would. If anyone is interested in more information I'll be happy to find the page number to help you if you order from a bike shop as they may not know about this computer.

I have the Cateye with cadence but not wireless.
It was a little cheaper and the LBS mounted it for me in about 10 minutes. I am very happy with it.

I had the VDO you mentioned. I got it from Performance. From early on it would cut out when I was going faster than 25 mph. I don't know if it couldn't keep up or if it was the individual unit. I fidgited with it and finally sent it back to Performance. When I asked about replacing it the customer service guy said, "We can do that, but I would go with a Cateye."

(I haven't replaced it yet. I'm holding out for a sale.)

2 votes for the Cateye Astrale 8 wired model. I have em on both my bikes. Only forty bucks, and they work great.

Make it three votes. I've got Astrale 8's on 3 bikes.
