Definitely! The most noticable impact for me is after a long run (2.5-3hrs.). I am generally not hungry after it but force some good stuff into the stomach. Usually about 3-4 hrs. later if I eat a good meal the regular pains and discomfort of the run almost vanish. What I find work best are veggies, w soya prod. for me.
Here are some web sites that explain things a little:

There many things on the web that explain what is good and works best. Talking w other triathletes I also find that certain foods work better than others for different people. You should experiment and see what works best for you. Here is a good food list that might help w recovery and general eating:

I am sure, that certain food recovers faster than others. I testet some food so I now how much I have to eat bevor run, so that i don´t get a bonk. And it is the same after the run for recovery.
I can definately feel Hammergel go through my system. And the people around me can HEAR it! :D
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
Haha thats awesome. I usually use Chocolate milk, or plain, non-fat yogury topped with a few tablespoonds of honey.

Does anyone here, ever notice that certain foods speed recovery faster than others? I've noticed after particularly hard workouts, when I consume protein or simple sugars, I can literally feel the nutrients go to my legs. Does anyone else experience this?
