2006 Ford Ironman World Championship 70.3 To Air on NBC Saturday, March 31
(Tarpon Springs, Fla.) October 10, 2006 - NBC will air the 2006 Ford Ironman World Championship 70.3 on Saturday, March 31 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST.
The broadcast will be taped on location at the inaugural Ford Ironman World Championship 70.3 in Clearwater, Fla., on November 11, 2006. The event, taking place in one of the world's top beach destinations, leads approximately 1,800 of the fittest athletes from around the globe along a 70.3 Mile journey. Watch as professional and age group athletes alike test their physical and mental limitations while swimming 1.2 Miles, cycling 56 Miles and running 13.1 Miles.
Over the years, the NBC broadcast of the Ford Ironman World Championship, shot on location in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, each October, has garnered 38 nominations and has captured 13 Emmy awards. The show has also won five consecutive International Monitor Awards for global excellence. Most recently, the broadcast won the highly respected CINE Golden Eagle Award.
