Mounting tubulars

I have tubulars on my race wheels, which were glued by the LBS. Foruntately, I have not had to change them yet, but I anticipate severe problems the day that I do. I am looking into alternative methods for mounting, namely one that will let me get the tire off as fast as possible and the spare on. I have heard that tufo tape and a little bit of glue works well for this, but I was wondering what some of the more seasoned people are doing. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

I've got a set that are glued the old fashioned way (lots of cursing and things sticking together) that have a small gap in the glue oposite the valve stem. It's still tough to get off, but it's the only way I've been shown to have a better chance at changing a flat quickly.

Here...try this!

Been doing sew ups for years and it is a trick,so practice.
The key to on and off is to start at the top of the rim and push down and around on the tire..you'll get a "bunch" at the bottom that you can work off and pull. Heaven help ya if it's cold as rubber contracts when it's cold.
DON'T leave part of the tire unglued...you'll do a" Beloki" given the right situation.
Good luck!

No need for glue if you are using tufo tape. Here is a good link to check out:

Make sure you get the right tufo tape...they make two kinds and one is for cool to cold weather the other is for hot...

Anyone have experience using the tape with tires other than Tufo?

I"ve used it with tufo only and it works ok...but I still prefer glue. I think it's and old school peace of mind thing.
With other tires..don't know. You first! ;)
