Who all here is going to Florida? The bib numbers are now up, my bags are nearly packed, the bike's tuned up and the butterflies are starting to flutter. It's starting to get real!

I have trained hard for the past year, eaten well, followed my coach's program and listened to her advice. I have done nearly 4,000 miles on the bike, over 1,200 miles running and countless laps in the pool.

Now I just have to trust the process, have a good taper, and go down and just get it done.

Speed hurts; how fast do you want to go?

I'm in. Finishing up the taper and trying to stay healthy. Got the bike tuned and doing the last couple rides to work my position and break in a new tire. I just want to race and see how it goes.

141? You're young! (numbers were assigned by age). I'm 1419 (up there with the old farts).

Good luck, Mav. Let us know how it goes.

Is IMFL the one where people say you can actualy see sharks some times????

Just messing with you Sling :D !!! Pure envy writing!!! LOL

God luck on Florida, I have two friends from Guatemala doing the race so if you get to know any Guatemalan Triathlete who happens to train at World Gym you can tell them you have seen me around here. (Now I´m just trying to be polite after the stupid joke!!!)

The sharks aren't so bad.
It is the jelly fish that freaked me out a little

But seriously,

They had no sightings of sharks when I was there last year. They have plenty of boats and safety personnel watching out for you.

Also, with 2000+ swimmers entering the water at the same time it is like a stampede in the water. That much commotion in the water would probably scare a whale away.

The jelly fish aren't so bad. They mostly get out of you way too.

And, with that many swimmers, even there is a shark, I guess my odds of getting attacked are about one in two thousand? :D

Now that is positive thinking!!

The pro field goes out 15 minutes ahead of time too.
They would be the first to feed the sharks, and the sharks would be having a tough time picking those stringy super lean pros out of their teeth to bother with you. :D

Wow sling! that´s positive thinking in fact!

I wasn´t afraid of sharks until I started watching those shows in the Discovery Channel (Don´t know how they are called in the states but the translation into spanish is something like "Survived")
Damn show!!! I always end up without nails after watching the ones involving sharks.

When I did Alcatraz earlier this year, someone put a small dead shark up on the sea wall as a prank. It was actually pretty funny to see some of the folks' reactions.

Y'all should get together a few days before the IM, hang out and maybe do some of the last bit of training together. That's what some did at IMC this year. It was nice to talk IM together and root eachother on. I volunteered and got to see some of them finish. It was a lot of fun. Plus it's nice to put a face with a name when you're on here.

Good luck out there everyone!

I agree.

It is a great opportunity to make trifuel something more than just online.

I met a few guys last year. Riverbrady and I hung out quite a bit.

Best of luck to all of you!!:D

Yep, was great fun :) It's always nice to actually meet other Trifuelers face to face.

I'm heading down to volunteer and sign up for next years race. Good luck to you all. Looks like you'll have great weather. Highs in low 70's, lows in the low 40's.

Boy, that race was a blast! I definitely want to do this one again. How about that crazy swim??

I was shooting for anything under 13 hours and I ended up with an 11:31!! I could not be happier with my results for my first IM (however, I am already looking at how to improve my time for the next one!! - yeah, we're all sick!)
