Specialized Transition
I've got a Transition S-Works that I use for races and I have no complaints with it. Very light, very little flex, a great bike.
No advice on the test ride though, this one was bought on E-bay.
I have a specialized transition elite and it rides great. It about ~20 lbs with my GPS and saddle bag packed full ~2lbs. It is lighter and a little faster than my Cannondale R700 with 650C wheels. I am very happy with it so far.
I upgraded the rear to a 12-27 for hills and the rear has an ultegra deraileur. I will upgrade the brakes to something better soon as I was used to ultegra and dura-ace brakes before and like them better. Other than that it is a great bike for the price.
I'd say call lots of different bikes shops until you find a specialized dealer. Only 2 in my area of about 50 miles carried specialized in my size. Since it is late in the season there wern't too many available
Hey all,
way to busy getting ready for the trip to Clearwater, but funny to hear about the Specialized Transition.
I'm getting the new model for 2007. The Specialized Transition pro. I wanted the S-Works ( it look puuuurrrdddyyyyyyy) but the Pro is good too. I'm just buying the frame and pimpin'it with the zero grav. brakes and bontrgaer carbon stuff ;)
I heard it was pretty damn good, alu frame and carbon stem and fork, but it supposed to ride like a dream. Peter Reid helped out with the design... that works for me

It ain't much, if it ain't Dutch!!
I have an '06 Transition Expert (the red one). It's a pretty sweet ride. The only thing I changed from the stock package was to swap out the crankset for a compact.
I didn't get a chance to test ride it, because most shops won't stock XS frames. I did the body scan measurements and had the shop pick the size. They also did the setup off of the scan. I've been pretty happy with it. Done very little tweaking.

Any members have a Specialized Transition bike? Would be interested in hearing pros and cons?
Also, any recommendation on how to test ride one - I'm having a hard time finding a shop in Atlanta that sells Specialized tri bikes.
Thanks!
