Since my tri season is officially over, I'm going to be participating/racing w/ a friend in the Muddy Buddy next Sunday in So Cal and was wondering if anyone can shed some light on what to wear - especially shoes.

i'm going to put flats on my ellsworth moment and likely wear some sort of running shoes (with regular laces) or some sort of hiking boots.

i've heard people are duc taping there shoes to their legs so they don't lose there shoes.

in addition, i was thinking about wearing tri shorts and some sort of tight fitting under armour top.

any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I just wore some mid length running shorts and some old XC spikes I had (took the spikes out.) You're not on the bike long enough to need padding. And I didnt see anyone loose a shoe.

I would wear older running shoes insteas of boots. The boots will slow you down WAY to much. Theres actually some decently fast people that show up for these things sometimes.

And make sure you dont really care for the clothes you wear too much. There will be dirt and left over mud in them for a while. ;)

Have fun, it was a blast!

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

2nd that on the fast people. Sacrificial shirt, tri-shorts and your running shoes. This is one event where my official race-shirt count did not go up or down, I simply traded the old muddy one for the clean dry one :)

Have fun!
