Generally the race is only broadcast in the 2 hour special a number of weeks after the fact...a simple fact that too little of the population would tune in to a race broadcast all day, pre-empting regular network shows.

the NBC coverage is on Saturday, December 9th from 4 to 6
like last year, ill probably record it and share an FTP site to download it & I will share it via bit-torrent as well to make it more widely available
its a good motivator to watch while on the trainer during the cold months

"tv coverage of kona " should be followed with "by NBC will blow as always" .... OLN should cover the race. we always compalin but i will offer some suggestions for improvement rather than just complain,
1) More time spent on the PRO's.
2) NBC should highlight the Fastest american with expanded profile and airtime.
What else would improve it ?

i recorded it last year and then editted out the commercials and the 2 program without commercials lasted 1 hour, no joke
which to me is insane
maybe they should do it in two sections too, have 1 hour dedicated to the pros and the winners and another hour dedicated to the age groupers and the emotional stories they focus on

I agree that NBC/OLN/VS./ whoever covers it should do a longer coverage. But you have to remember, we are triathletes. We love this stuff. Most of us sat in front of the webcast all day long. Normal people don't give a crap for more than an hour or so. It's not in the best interest of the broadcasting company to do a long production.

I recorded the 1 hour special of last years race but it was reallly low quality since it was hard for me to find a cable company with NBC around here... the one I got had a crapy signal.

Search the net for Bittorent and you´ll get a better idea.
You can download all types of files from bittorent sites its usually used for downloading large video files etc. (movies, full dvd´s etc)
As you can imagine....not very legal. I don´t use it normally but sometimes is the only way to get my hands on tv stuff that I don´t get in the local cable company.
