I am doing the Buffalo Springs 70.3 in Lubbock, Texas next June and I wanted to see if any other Trifuelers had been to Lubbock and could point me in the right direction in terms of lodging and things to do during the week.

I will probably arrive the weekend before so I can have time to train on the course. Is there anything to do in Lubbock? Are there interesting places to visit, places to eat, night life, etc? From what I could find on the website it doesn't seem like a very exciting town but I have to think there are some fun things to do.

Help me out if you can!!!

Probably not necessary to arrive a week in advance. Yes, there are hills on the course, but they are highly overratted.

I think most people stay at hotels off of the south part of the beltway. We stayed at the Comfort Suites, so we had room for bikes in the room.

Yeah I am looking at just showing up on Thursday due to the lack of local activities. That should be enough time to test the course and get ready for the race.
