Does anyone have any advice for getting into off-road triathlons? I mountain bike all of the time, especially in the off-season and I have done many trail marathons including the Pikes Peak Marathon. But all of my Trithlons have been on pavement.

Does anyone have any gear advice? Technique advice? Any cool races to suggest. I am looking to start with an Olympic distance or Half IM distance race. I've done one Half IM and 2 IM races. But again, on nice smooth pavement.

Any advice would be great. Thanks all...

XTerra is the place to look for a race. I have done a couple and they are a blast. Definitely more relaxed that a road triathlon

Nothing to it, but to do it

Have any of you ever done an Xterra scramble. There's one here in a couple of weeks - 5K & 10K - and was wondering what to expect.

Sorry Utrarunner for the hijack : )
