I need a new saddle that is light weight. Also, I ride on the nose, so I looking for something that will help from getting numb down there. I am training for an Ironman. Thanks for the help

Fizik Arione (Tri saddle)
Works great for me - I also ride up on the nose.

All the dedicated tri saddles work well. I have a San Marco Tri Aspide that I LOVE. I have also sat on the Profile tri saddle as well as the Adamo nose less saddle. The Adamo was interesting, but the fit could be a concern for some atheletes.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

I ride the Aspide as well, though I added a neoprene cover for IM. I tried the Azoto and the Profile Design and had issues with each. Everyone is different so it make take a little experimentation to figure out what works for you.

I too have rode the Aspide and just switched to the Arione Tri. I like the Arione better. It seems that this saddle works for a wide variety of athletes. Saddles are individual specific, but again, Fizik seem to have found a design that work for a majority of riders.

yep...I have the men's version. I LOVE it! It relieves pressure in the sensitive area and that makes me happy :D Seriously, its made a world of difference for me.

Picking a saddle is like picking a bike. Every one will like a different saddle. Some people ride a SI slr on the nose. That thing is hard as a rock to me. Some people hate the Fizik Arione Tri, some love it. Pick one, ride it for a while (atleast 500 miles) and then decide if you like it our hate it. I'm convinced that there is a sweet spot in every saddle, you just have to find it. The first time I rode the SI SLR, I thought I'd never be able to sit normally again, but after 5-6 rides it became very comfortable. You just got to give it time.

All of the saddles posted so far are pretty good ones and the key is what fits for you. If you ride on the nose and are going to do an Ironman then you pretty much just have to concede "getting numb down there". If you want to give your "boys" more room to breathe then consider going with a more traditional road saddle and staying back in the saddle. Of course you will need to train riding that way since it uses your muscles in a slightly different way. I think riding back in the saddle is best when you are talking IM distance because of the comfort level. I will leave the extreme aero positions for the people doing the 9-10 hour IMs.

Good luck!

All about fit - I don't get numb doing IM distance riding on the nose of the saddle. However, if I ride back on the saddle, then all sorts of things go numb. It is all about what works for the individual. Unfortunately it typically means going through a couple of saddles to find the right one. I know I went through 3 before finding the one that works for me.

If your LBS is worth a damn, they will let you try a saddle or two or three for a day ride.

I have limited time on the ISM. My take: it works as far as taking pressure off the important bits. It was slightly too wide for me, but I have seen a fix where someone used big zip ties to make the nose more narrow. It is also very sparsely padded, but I think making it narrow would fix all comfort issues I had with it.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

i have the saddle that comes stock with the felt s32 and i have only put 200 miles on it. is that too short to break it in? it hurts wherever i sit in that sensitive spot. i use bike shorts to train and i cant imagine wearing the tri shorts i bought. owww
