2007 TdF route - help!
I think it's a little early, not sure they've released the route yet. They usually have something on OLN (versus) when they do and I haven't seen anything to date.
But, but I gotta start booking travel arrangements!
I mean there's gonna be a rush for the best hotel rooms, etc.
kidding..
you're probably right. I just got eager is all. But they must know already, what's holding it up?
I mean they don't leave it until winter to go out and check the roads for the following July. There's probably snow in the passes by now.

They do know the route because I recall OLN showing a preview of the 2007 course on their last TDF 2006 broadcast.

It really hasnt been announced yet. The only part that is official is the prologue and first stage in england
It should be coming out in the next few days. Other sites to check:

I went in 2003 and followed the Tour for about 10 days - camped out half the time and stayed in hotels the other half. Let me know if you would like some recommendations, etc.
It is fun to watch! I watched the infamous stage 17 because I was studying in the area. It was sooo cool. There is so much hulabaloo surrounding the event and those guys were moving very fast even near the top of the mountain where I was watching from..

Taking a quick glance, stage 9 and 14 look like great ones to watch. On stage 9 they will climb the Galibier and then they have a mountain top finish on the Plateau-de-Beille on stage 14.
If anyone is going next year, I highly recommend going to at least one start and one finish - gives a different perspective than just watching the climbs. Marseille is a cool port city (watched a stage finish there in 2003).

I've just spent an hour on the web trying to find a friggin' map of the TdF route next July.
Not even on the "Official" website
http://www.letour.fr/2007/TDF/presentation/us/etape1.html
can I find a simple link labelled perhaps, "La Route"
nor on Velonews, The British Cycling Page
http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/web/site/BC/roa/News2006/20060209_TDF_Route.asp
- which is all excited about hosting the prologue and stage one of course, but once the tour leaves the shores of bonny Britain, could they care? Apparently not.
Has anybody else got a link for me, please?

steamed, mystified, stunned by the obtuseness of these so-called promoters who haven't figured out that maybe a map of the course ought to be the first thing they put on their websites.
