I rode on rollers for the 1st time tonight and it was tough. However I got the hang of it a bit toward the end by leaning against the door frame. I still have alot of work to do to get up to 90+RPM without leaning into the door frame but if I can get it down then I can only imagine how much my bike control and pedal stroke will be.

Very cool!

:) Rollers are fun. I started back on them this week again. They do take a lot more concentration than trainers. Zone out on rollers and you may go for a ride! Stay with it and you will see the improvements.

The rollers also showed me how "uneven" my pedal stroke is in terms of the power. I really need to work on a smooth stroke with an even power output over the whole pedal stroke. If you are jerky then you really notice it on the rollers.

Rollers are a great tool. Its good to hit em up once in a while even during the non cold season (like ona rainy day) to brush up your technique.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

Started back on mine last week...Oy.
But it comes right back after a few...mistakes.
When starting rollers or coming back after not being on them awhile, the good advice I got was to use them often but for short periods...everyday for 15 minutes,or some such...when things get going smoothly increase your time.
Right now I'm splitting my time. :30 minutes on the rollers and :30 to 1:00 on the trainer.
But guys...don't tell anyone else. Rollers are a secret weapon.

Thanks alot! but now im not sure. I guess the roller is good for evening out your strokes. I have a trainer thing already..thats really old and the resistance is insane...so a cheap $100 roller sounds good.

I am quickly learning that a roller is worth its weight in gold! It does not relax a trainer but it is an absolute must have addition. 15-20 minutes a day is all it takes to get that pedal stroke going in the right direction.

Rollers are fun! I just have a trainer in my dorm room at school, but the cycling team has rollers that I use and my dad has some at home that I can use when I'm there. I'm comfortable riding them for up to an hour sometimes in aero position, but I still have a lot of trouble getting on and off if there isn't a stable shelf at bike level...
