"WHEN Todd Crandell competes in the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii this month, it will mark his 12th Ironman in seven years. The remarkable is no longer remarkable, of course. Tens of thousands of people have completed one.

But Mr. Crandell’s path to the starting line was unconventional. He first learned of the endurance showcase while smoking crack cocaine."

Cool, nice catch. I just posted on Feedstoke: http://www.feedstoke.com/2006/10/12/64-bodies-in-motion-clean-and-sober

Todd was on the Ironman Arizona coverage this weekend. They talked to him shortly about his past and his current mission. Seems cool, I'll look for him while I'm out there.

I have seen articles on him before.
They usually publisize it before an event he does.

I guess it is better to replace a harmful addiction with one that is healthy such as runng, biking or swimming.:D

Nothing to it, but to do it
