Returning From Severe Muscle Strain

with a 10 in your running skill level, i'm sure you've got a wealth of experience to work off of. my perspective is one of someone who wasn't a runner trying to become a triathete (ie starting from scratch)...so, my only advice you probably already know... is to work on base building phase efforts, zone 2 max, build by 10% a week and back off 25% every fourth. that method took me from less than 15mins max to being able to run 2hrs no problem.

-Admittedly, this quad injury has been the first injury where I have had to completely re-build my running. I have maintained muscular endurance, as well as cardiovascular fitness, through long rides, aqua-running, and elliptical work.
I have even begun running in different shoes now. I am returning very gradually, with running between 10 and 20 minutes a day, at around 9 min/mi.
Provided I was running XC, this is a noted difference.
Does anyone have any good “return to running plans? My mileage coming into season was between 75 and 80 miles per week, and that was in late August/Early September.
Thanks!
