Nothing to it, but to do it
I was thinking about that one, but I figured I'd do the Fifth Avenue Mile tomorrow. That closes out my 9 qualifying races on an easy mile and saves my legs some wear and tear.:D
Besides, my wife tells me I'm going apple picking on Sunday.

Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.
I was going to try and get bothe the 5th ave mile in on Saturday and Grete's Great Gallop on Sunday but I have soccer with the kids on Saturday.
Sunday will be qualifying event number 5 for me. :D

Grete's Great gallop was practically Grete's Great swim!!
It was pouring at the start.
I wore my handy dandy disposable rain poncho.
(hefty 30 gallon trash bag)
I kept that on until the rain slowed down and I was a bit warmed up around mile 2.
It was 2 loops inside Central Park, which is where the NYRR holds most of their races, so the courses look the same after awhile.
I ended up meeting up with my stalker Nancy, and talking to her for the duration of the race.
(she thinks I am stalking her, but I declared her the stalker first!)
(I have run into Nancy(pun intended) in about 8 races since the spring)
That helped keep me distracted from the repeated scenery and the water squishing out of my shoes with each step.
The fish are had some decent post race food. Bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese, and waffles.
Then I had to run home in the rain post race ;-P
