Disney Olympic Tri

Sweet! Great job. I entertained thoughts of that race, but after recalling the circus of last year, I decided against it. Smokin' times!

Very Nice!
Glad that you got the nutrition worked out. That should give you lots of confidence to take into the 70.3.
It is fun going fast - okay that is a relative term, I know it is for me! - in a race, especially when you typically do long course.

I also raced the Disney Tri, 377 overall, 13th in my age group. I thought it was a fun race. Being part of Team In Training made it a cool weekend. Glad to hear of your success.

This was only my 2nd tri of this distance...I prefer the long stuff bec I'm a "slow twitch" gal. Because this was really a nutrition- trial race in prep for the 70.3 in Nov, I went in with a calm, positive attitude. Sure, I wanted to have a PR, and expected it since I have a better handle on my nutrition...and the fact that I'd blown the Oly in April.
The swim was slower than I anticipated. I finished in 32:56. After a long run to T1, I hopped onto my new hot-and-super-fast Orbea, I finished just under an hour...I'd planned on 75 minutes. What the...? In and out of T2 and ran my @$$ off in 55:22 (I'm typically a 9:30-10:00 miler) to finish in 2:34:17 .
I ended up #18 in my age group and #355 out of 1149 overall! If you can believe it, I improved my time by nearly 25 minutes from April! I am SO psyched that my belly played along. I actually felt fast...a new feeling for me :p I hope this is a sign that I have my nutrition right. I guess it also has to do with my hot bike, complete in the right size and the right saddle. Of course I was anaerobic most of the time ...with a HR between 170-185  I know I can't race that pace in Nov, so any suggestions to carry this success on to then would be helpful!
