Nice job! You never know what the weather will bring on race day. Looks like you battled through just fine.

I too did that race...congrats on a great finish...man that wind was brutal.

So I finished my first half IM yesterday at Deer Creek in central OH. Overall, it was pretty enjoyable. I can still walk and a bit sore, ok pretty sore. Prior to this I'd doen one olympic distance and usually only do sprints. I actually finished 2nd in my age group for the tri series here in OH last week. Anyways, so we were supposed to get rained on, but it passed and it was a great day temperature wise. The water was a little cold, but nothing too bad. I'm awful at swimming so I figured if I survived the swim I'd be ok. So 45 minutes later after getting out of the chop, I hopped up on my bike and went off to battle the wind. Which easily beat everyone yesterday. I kept about a 18.9 MPH over the course, we had a 3 lap 18.66 bike course. One part you could fly on (28-29 MPH), then turned into the wind and struggled to keep 14-15 MPH. So I was pretty happy to get to the run after that. The run went fine. I ran a 1:42 half. I always like the run, but I'm a former track/CC kid. Overall, I finished at 5:49:32. It was a great event and I can't wait to do my next one!
