Planning on doing my first tri next spring (9-10 months away) and just wanted to get some tips on what a good free style swim should look like. I don't want to train with sloppy form because I know that will just slow me down. Any tips would be helpful.

get a lesson or a set of lessons from a swim coach. try and get yourself video taped. That is going to be your best bet for success.

Thanks glbrum. I thought that I would probably need a swim coach or at least someone else to watch me and give me some pointers.

go to totalimmersion.net
I suggest "triathlon swimming made easy" book and the "freestyle made easy" DVD. Spend the next three months doing the drills as set forth in the total immersion stuff. THe TI way of swimming and drills should really help your swimming form.

I also recomend you Total Immersion! I purchased the books and DVD.

And now I also have a coach but that´s just because I like the wourkouts he plans for me and the way he is always near me making me to give out the best I can.

Hyperactive Trifueler!!!! (I refuse to let the status go :p)
