I would love to see that report some time...
It was HOT!
This was the first time for the race so I expected some problems, the biggest one was they did not have co2 cartridges for athletes; they only had a few and ran out very very early.
-The swim course was ok, dead vegetation on the sea floor didn't make it look as nice (hurricane related), the current wasn't bad at all, it was some what protected in a cove.
-The transition area was ok, they didn't have porta-potties in the transition area, only outside of the area. It was a 6:30am start and there was not enough lighting in the transition area to see, you needed a head lamp.
-The bike course was way better than I expected, it was smooth in some areas but no pot holes like I expected. Overall it was flat, and it was modified, so instead of 2 loops we had 3, which wasn't that bad, but we had 3 stretches into a good head wind. Tooooooo much drafting going on for a non-draft legal race. I got caught in a pack and was hard getting out of it, people passing on the right. They were coming around once in a while to give penalties.
-The run course pretty flat but brutal, not much shade to be found. They did have plenty of water stops along the way, but at times they were short on ice.
-The finish line tent area was very nice, very cold water and gatorade, showers, food, medical attention and massage.
-Pretty much no parking at the race site, and only small taxi's. A lot of people rode their bike home back to the hotel, we did. After a long day in the sun it was the last thing you wanted to do.
-They had plenty of medical assistance and it was a well protected course.
I'd say it was the toughest race I've ever done, way harder than IM Brazil, which I did earlier this year. If you can train in hot and humid weather or have no problem doing a race in these conditions I would go for it. It was a perfect place to vacation afterwards.
The weather we had the next day would have been better, more cloud cover and it rained a bit.

Did anyone do this? Any thoughts, reactions, race reports? Contemplating making this my first HIM next year, but wanted some feedback before registration opens in October. Thanks!
