The swim was canceled because the harbor permit was denied at the last minute. It was replaced with a 3k run. While I could use the swimming and wetsuit donning practice, I have to say that I didn't miss the swim.

I really enjoyed biking through downtown DC. It was really cool to go screaming down the wide boulevards and have them all to ourselves. Biking on Rock Creek Parkway is also a blast.

Running past museums, monuments, and the Capitol provided better than average urban scenery.

If you have got the $$$, it is worth it. I'll be back next year.

I just couldn't do it...Just couldn't bring myself to do yet one more race in DC...yes, it would have been a du but I'd rather travel...not really into urban stuff either...
Glad you had a good time...Oh..and good luck at Chessie man!

Thanks, I rode the 2 loops of the Chessie course today. The swim and bike will go fine... the run is going to blow.

Sounds like fun, definitely would like to try riding those DC streets. That's too bad they cancelled the swim-- do you know why the permit was revoked? Was it some security issue?
