I tried using canned chicken broth as my drink on my longer bike rides and surprisingly, I enjoyed it. I know it sounds gross but I didn't have any negative consequences from it.

Looking at the nutrition data on this, it's got plenty of sodium which is great for those sweaty long rides, but the caloric value is almost nil.

Can anyone think of something I can add to this to boost the calories but without having to sweeten it up? I don't think I could stand the flavor of gatorade chicken soup...

i've had chicken broth as an after ride drink in the winter. i think it's a pretty good change of pace. just get chicken noodle soup for some calories...

i saw in sports illustrated that football players use pickle juice in summer preseason workouts

They serve chicken broth at IM on the run course.

Carbo-pro is the only thing I've heard of people mixing in with broth. It was a popular combination at a 24-hour race a couple of weeks ago when the temp dropped at night.

I like a little chicken noodle soup in a wide mouth bottle.
I use carbo pro to add some carbs in any beverage, since it is taste free.:D
