Ok so half ironman is comming up. I need to get in some miles today pretty bad. Its raining....not too hard but its no drizzle. How bad is it for the bike to ride a few hours in the rain?

No problem at all. Just clean it, that day, when you are done; not the next day or next weekend. Water is only bad for the bike if you let it linger/sit around, etc.

Riding in the rain is fine. Watch for painted surfaces on the road - very slippery. Just be sure to clean, oil afterwards. (As you would anyway!)

Thanks for the quick reply guys! Decided not to chance going down and hurting myself though since my first HIM is this weekend. But I did go for a nice 7 mile fun rainy run!

Aren't you supposed to be tapering? Not a bad alternative, though. I love running in the rain.

7 miles is tapering....it was really slow and its a whole week before the race so 7 miles isnt really too bad....couldnt help but to go that far anyway bc it was the first cool day we've had here in texas in a reallly long time....plus the rain is always fun
