The Stumpy is a nice bike, and can be raced. Its just not OPTIMAL for racing. The longer travel makes it a bit over kill for your area, too ;) The Epic is a shorter travel RACE bike. If you plan on being serious with Xterras and bike racing, I'd get the Epic. If you just plan on racing them occasionally for fun, the Stumpy is ok.
Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

Hello, for the past 2 years I been a triathlete and I would like to get a mountain bike to ride around the Orlando and Ocala trails and do 2 to 3 Xterra races a year. I like the 07 Stumpjumer FSR Expert and I will like to know if this bike will work for me.
