Getting back into shape
NEVER apologize for your time off.
I took 8 years off to raise a daughter and came back better than I was before.
Great core set.
I don't think you are over doing it...but remember to be flexible as you come back...some of the thigs you do now may have to fall by the wayside as more time is needed for running ,biking and swimming.
Come back slowly. Don't jump in too fast. Sure, you are young and can probably withstand alot but how many years do you want to do this?
Many triathletes benifit from time lifting weights. Think about that.
Welcome back!

Hey thanks alot :D!
I wasn't expecting such a warm welcome. I make sure to stretch all the time so im somewhat flexible. I've been doing this set for a while now though. It's running, biking and swimming that i stopped.
It's all good then.
Thanks alot.

Not just flexible body wise ,but also flexible in scheduling...while consistancy is key...ridgid inflexibility in training can lead to bad workouts and horrible races.
You're out there! It IS all good.

I'm also coming back from some "time off" mainly from injuries, but it feels great to be doing it all again. I wouldn't say you are over doing it, but you will have to make sure you know what's more important to you. Core strength is very important in this sport and the exercises you are doing sound great, but that is a lot if you want to get back into IM shape (even if it's going to take 2 years).
Don't jump back in too quickly, for your sake and mine. That's how I got injured. I wasn't very smart and ended up with Patellar Tendonitis and ITBS in the same knee. I finally started running again this week. At this point, frequency is more important than duration or volume. Right now my plan is 3 days on, 1 day off repeat the cycle 3 times and then I can increase my time about 10-15%.I'm only running 10 minutes per day. The only thing you do by coming back too quickly is risk a lot of injury. Be safe and have fun.
Thanks alot everyone.

I am also coming back from an injury (hit by a car, I have created a topic here on trifuel too).
In 2 weeks I'll begin to weight train in order to properly get back into shape instead of jumping up on the bike and hammering 30mi++!
It IS always slow but as another guy says here in this forum:
"Slow is smooth, smooth is fast!"

Hello Fellow Triathletes!
I've taken a lovely 4 month break from triathlon
I feel really guilty about it. Anyway i want to start training for IM(gonna give myself two years) and work my way up to ultra-sports (running 100 miles etc..).
I do this everyday, and im wondering if it will lead to burn out.
So i need some advice, and remember these are just core exercises.
70 pushups morning,
jacknife 100 seconds. Side sit ups with weights(10), they're a special type. Back situps(lifting legs[perpendicular] basically with stomach on floor) 60. 40 leg raises of each..leg :p. 70 pushups at night. Sleep.
Now im doing one karate class on monday and wednesday but because of my uni schedule i cant do the monday right away. Starting jan. i will be able to do both. The class is an hour 15.
I will also start doing some jump rope(100 each leg, 200 both).
Other than that, i wall sit 8 minutes on tuesdays, thursdays and saturdays.
Add to that, the fact that i will start running alot more, and swimming and biking..am i over doing it?
thanks
