A question about tire pressure
Min and max pressure are written on the side of the tire. Buy a pressure gauge (you may also need an adaptor), and learn how to use it. Better yet is to use a floor pump with a built-in gauge. You can go at whatever pressure between those two numbers is comfortable to you.
It is definately worth it to have a pressure gauge. With mountain bikes you can get away with the squeeze method, but it's riskier with road and tri-bikes. Also, stay more towards the middle to lower pressure on really hot days (>90 degrees). that temperature can produce 100 degree + temps. on the road causing your tires to blow out (the heat swells the tires).

Yup, absolutely get a floor pump with a built-in guage. Then pump to the recommended pressure. And as mentioned, if it will be hot go more towards the min pressure. Takes the guess work out of it. A worthwhile investment.

Thank you guys, I knew I would find the answers I needed here. So, are we ready to rock and roll? I am enjoying my taper and next week, I will be doing very light workouts, then I will pack my stuff and get ready for the trip. I wish all of you who are doing Iron Man Wisconsin, the best of luck. I am wishing the same for myself, lets all have a grand and wonderful time, ok?

Now all we have to do is get our numbers and hope for good weather! See y'all in Madison. It will be fun.

I am wondering what is the correct pressure for my bike tires. I always make sure they are hard before I go for a ride but I don't want to over inflate them. My air pump does not have a pressure indicator so I don't know how much air to pump in them, I just kind of go by how hard they feel. Do I have to consider my weight/height when it comes to putting air in them? I am 5' 7" tall and weigh 132lb. so what would be the correct pressure. Thanks for any information.
