Gee, I guess I should have replied a year ago... the month after IMWI was not a good one for me - knee surgery plus a few complications.
Anyways, my impressions of the Supercoach plan:
It got me through the IM - I did about a 14:50 or so but I had to limp the last 16 miles of the marathon because I tore a ligament in my knee when I crashed my bike a couple months before IMWI. My knee stopped working 10.5 miles into the run. I would have liked to think if my knee was healthy, I could have done somewhere between 12 and 13 hours based on the other threads about "how fast can I go in an IM if my HIM time is X" (best HIM time (5:25) + 1-2 hours).
I was running strong off the bike (1:35 for the first 10 miles) until my knee quit. So, I would say my modified plan got me to the run in good shape but running is my strongest event. Who knows if I would have held that pace, probably not, but it's nice to dream.
I think the limiter on the Supercoach plan is that the long bikes are not long enough. We modified the plan to add more distance (and intensity) to the bike. The bike is the best way to build base endurance for an IM without hurting yourself - as long as you don't crash :o
As for the swim part, I did the workouts listed. But I'm not a swimmer and I was lucky to get out of the water at IMWI last year. Someone else with more swimming experiencne will have to reply because I'm not an expert.
Come to think of it, I'm not an expert in any of the events but that's not stopping me from giving my opinion - It's a good plan for the first-time, self-coached IMers.

It got me through my first IM in 12:48:07.
I'd done 2 tris before the IM. I'm a clyde who couldn't run more than 2 miles at the beginning of last summer.
If you follow the plan, it'll work. Start your base-work before the 36 weeks, though. Get into about 8 hours a week of easy, Zone-1 exercise for a month or two.

I´m going to start my training for my first Ironman in a few weeks, and searching the web i´ve found this training programme: http://www.trifuel.com/triathlon/ironman-workouts/ , developed by Mike Llerandi.
Has any of you completed an ironman following it?
Do you have any experience with this training plan?
Can you have a look and provide any feedback, please?
I´ve checked it out and it´s seems interesting, but I may be wrong. Can u help please??
