Polar 625x
I found out in my Polar s720i that if I gained some weight and introduced the new weight into the monitor the amount of calories burned would be higher. And it makes sense! So I wouldn´t surprize about the high number of burned cals.
regarding the fitness test..... the first time I did it I got a 62 but.... I couldn´t care less about it. I calculate my HR Zones with Triathlte´s bible´s tests and that´s all I need as an amateur I am.
I wouldn´t worry so much about it if I were U.
Keep track of your body weight and update your monitor info and you´ll see how the amount of calories burned changes with your weight.
Hyperactive Trifueler!!!! (I refuse to let the status go :p)
Easy test to se eif your accurate - call up Lance and challenge him to a TT. - Just Kidding.
I have a 625x, haven't had any wonky test results, make sure you test it with the electrodes good and wet, stay away from electrical and minimize your movement when lying and standing - let the timers tell you when to get up and stop, don't grab anything. make sure all your personal information is correct - age, weight, height, activity level. If still reports wonky email Polar/check with store - you paid good $$ for the watch make sure it works wheteher you use the test or not (IMHO)

I recently bought the Polar 625x HRM. I have done the fitness test a couple of times and followed the directions very carefully and keep getting really high (68-69) scores which would put me in the "elite" category, which I am definitely not in. Did anyone else have problems with this? I emailed Polar and they gave me the basic info about how to do it correctly and to do the test multiple times, etc. and it should even out. But I am skeptical at this point. I also get really high calories burned (which may relate to this fitness test issue). Any advice?
I guess on that same topic, I know that some people here have their VO2 max levels measure and max HRs calculated from that. At what point does something like become helpful? Also, how much does something like that cost? And how often do you re-calculate your HR-max with your improved fitness, etc.? So many questions :D
