What are all your opinions on these, I've used them as a quick meal replacement on occasion when im on the go. Wondering if i'm just paying for a upgraded candy bar.

well, most energy bars ae just candy bars. Some have whole grains and such, but most dont. Marathon bars are very tasty, but I dont feel like I get the prolonged energy out of them like I do with Clif Bars. They sure are GOOD tho! Def. would not use em as a meal replacement. Not enough cals.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

I love them...because I can eat them while riding hard in long races. I feel like I have to gagh down cliff bars cause they are bland. So if you like them that is all the counts. All it matters is if you can eat them while in a half or full ironman cause you wouldnt want to be stuck with something you dont want to put down.

I think they are pretty tasty, but I would warn you that they freeze solid in the cold. Most of the newer brands (like Clif, PB Harvest, Luna etc) don't freeze solid but Marathon do. If you use them in cold weather be sure to keep them close to your body or they will be hard as rocks-- worse than the original Power Bars even!

I used one in my last race and found it to be great!!!

I had only used powerbars in the past since we don´t get Cliffbars here in Guatemala, and the difference for me was great. I actually enjoyed eating it and felt it really charged my engine.

They gave me the worst stomach cramps EV4R when I ate one 45 minutes before my first aquathlon. I had to walk most of the run and it was only a 5k. I go for Clif Bars (because they sell them in bulk at Costco) or Larabars.

I think they are pretty tasty, but it is all up to personal taste ans what you can digest when you are active.
I use them mostly for pre or post workout. Not so much during.

I don't really eat bars except for sometimes as a snack or after a workout or just in place of regular candy bars. I can't handle that much fat or fiber before a workout and I can only tolerate liquid calories during. I've gotten those snickers bars as samples in race goodie bags and they sure taste good. My favorites are chocoalate peppermint stick luna bars though...

Check out the mile long list of ingredients... They may be tasty but I would not say healthy. IMO there are better ways to get in energy without all the associated garbage genetically engineered filler preservatives. Have a wheat grass shot , LOL

I use Cliff bars too. I have found the flavors that I like and buy 'em by the case. I've gotten Marathon bars for free at races, but they DO seem more like candy bars...and the list of ingredients are scary. But the main reason I don't use them is that they get all gooey and messy when hot. I frequently leave my gym bag in my car and these bars just can't hold up.
