Does anyone happen to be a millionaire who can afford these? I'm dreaming about buying them (after having seen the price - $799  ) and wonder if it's possible to make a mickey moused version of the same thing? Does anyone know how I would go about this?

And if you happen to be wealthy enough to own some, how do you like them? And can you justify for me WHY they cost sooooo much? I assume their cranks are made of gold since I can't afford them at the moment.

After searching the net for these powercranks..... I can tell you it would be interesting to train with them on a stationary bike or on a trainer.

But I wouldn´t like to have those things on my bike for a race. But that´s just me!

Hyperactive Trifueler!!!! (I refuse to let the status go :p)

I have tried them out at a demo and I could feel what they do and I can realyy see the benefit.

However I have not won the lottery yet so I can't afford them either.

Even regular cranks can be expensive but this is way out of my league.

When I win the lottery I will get you a set.:D

Somewhat similar product. The Q rings get favorable reviews at a fraction of the price. I cant jsutify the power crank and rotorcrank prices for ya. sorry.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

Powercranks worked pretty well for Floyd Landis or maybe that was another product he was using... :)

or was he powered by crank? :D

I guess I'll just stick to coffee and the cranks that came with my bike.

I think there is a key difference in that Power Cranks are intended to be a training tool, not a more efficient crank. The expectation is that you use Power Cranks to train and then slip back on the regular cranks on race day.

At least that's how I understand it, so not only do you need $800 for the cranks ... you might also want a spare bike to put them on.

When I used the powerecranks in a demo the salesperson advised that they were a training tool but they also said they could be kept on for use all the time

Yeah, the guy I talked to at IMC this weekend said one of the athletes was going to race IMC with them on... I mentioned that they were heavy and he just shrugged it off and said it shouldn't matter.

But they do work you. I was out of breath after a minute of spinning. Anyway, BBB advised me to forget about the Powercranks and just get out and ride. advice well taken. ;)

I think I will follow Beads and stick to the coffee and the cranks already on my bike.

Thanks for the input everyone!

It seems like a cool idea. When cost catches up with the technology then I might grab one.
