Im not sure because im not looking very closely when im in transition but it seems that people dont wear socks for the bike and run. Is this true? i guess it would explain y peoples transitions are so much better than mine.

I don't wear 'em. Putting dry socks on wet feet when I'm in a rush is just about the most frustrating thing imaginable!

I bike without socks and I'm fine but I cannot run without socks. It's guaranteed blisters no matter what kind of shoes I wear. If you can run without socks without problems, then do it. In my case, I have to wear them or it will hurt.

Putting dry socks on wet feet is quick. Just put them on you when both sock and foot are dry, then roll them down and off. You end up with a "condom"-looking sock which you just roll right on your foot. It doesn't take long at all.

Plenty of threads on this, but I am a sock wearer.
I don't mind the extra few seconds to prevent a blister which can screw up my training.
I do the rolled up like a condom thing and it works fine.:D

Nothing to it, but to do it

you just have the experience with rolling things, that's why it's easy for you!:D

I wear socks for the bike and the run.

But I have never had a problem putting them on. I have to say that the De Soto socks have a pretty good design. they part of the sock that covers the ankles is especialy design for you tu pull the sock on.

My feet of course part wet from the swim and it´s always easy!!!

I recomend them!!!

I wear them for 1/2 or full Ironmans, go without for anything less.

If you decide to try sockless, train without them as well to see how your feet hold up.

I went without socks in my last triathlon, but it was a mistake. I got a blister on my heel, but worse was that it was over 100 degrees outside and running on the hot sand was very uncomfortable. I could probably get away with it for my next, but I'll probably do the condom trick, just to be safe (buh-dum, splash)

I will go sockless on the bike through a HIM and on the run as well. But I will periodically train that way to ensure that blisters aren't an issue. I only need to powder my bike and running shoes.

I do the same thing. And training without wearing them is an absolute key. You are almost 100% guaranteed to get a blister if you try to race without socks without practicing first.

Do a simple test run to find the hot spots in the shoe, then got hrough and add vaseline to the inside of the shoe where the rubbing is occuring. No blisters. Doing a whole test run beforehand isnt gonna do you any good other than to weaken the skin. I only go barefott for races and have no issues. This all assumes you are running with flats. If not, go get pair (of flats, that is!)

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.
