I finally did it, after the long road of training, getting through injuries, and answering all those question to why I was doing this, I just completed the Timberman Sprint Triathlon 1:58:48. As I showed up to the course I myself kept wondering why I was doing this, but my fears were quickly overcome by the growing anticipation on what was to come. As the swim started, I was in the newbie wave, and the anouncer was joking around with us saying how the bike course was flat and we'd be done with an hour (course record was 1:03 which was shattered by three minutes, the guy who broke the record FINISHED his bike during my t1). So after the start announcment, I was towards the back of the pack on purpose, but swimming being my strongest event I started overtaking a lot of people. Despite my goggles filling with water and swimming off course I was out of the water with a little over 11 minutes of swimming, which I was happy with, I think I could of shaved some time if I didnt swim off course (.33miles)/ have to stop because people would try to block you in. T1 was horrible, having no idea what was going on I took about 5 minutes getting ready but was out on my mountain bike for the hilly 15 mile course. The sad part was that going up all the hills I past a lot of people, but going down at a top speed of 20mph wasnt great, and those same people zoomed past me. Took me 1hr and 10 minutes to do the bike, so I am going to need a road bike to pick up the pace :). The run I was exhausted and did it in over 30 min, stopping and walking for about .25 to talk to a lady I knew, took about 18 out and 12 back which I was happy about. So now I am back at home and going out for my victory dinner, I beat my two goals, finish, and finish around 2 hrs!
