Smelly Clothes

I have noticed that some of my "wicking" shirts are starting to smell and my normal washing doesn't seem to help. I hate to have to replace all of those more expensive shirts so soon! I tired to contact the manufacturer, but they were not a help at all. Anyone else have this (embarrasing) problem and know what to do about it? Thanks.

I like the baking soda option. It is cheap.
I let the machine fill up with water and detergent and the baking soda first and let it agitate for a minute. Then I put all my stinky clothes in and let them soak for 5-10 minutes and then let the load wash normally. I try to line dry my workout/biking clothes to preserve the wicking treatment on the fabric too :D

Nothing to it, but to do it

Fabreeze makes a clothing wash you add to your detergent, works pretty well

You forgot to add that YOU get in WITH the clothes; remember you don't take them off! You smelly guy! :D

I usually have loads of dirty laundry that sits there for weeks. A sheet of bounce in the pile will make my clothes smell fresh again within a day. I never wash my clothes anymore. Just kidding, but bounce does work well.

Why use a washing machine? Just add baking soda to your ice bath & jump in fully clothed after a long workout. 2 dead birds, 1 stone. :D

I got it down to this ritual:

Come home from a ride or run.
Add 2 tablespoons of "Oxy Clean" (or comparable color-safe peroxyde powder) to a half-filled bathroom sink with warm water.
Dunk jersey, shorts, cycling gloves, visor in there while I take a shower.
drain the sink, rinse the clothes out with cold water, wring, and hang everything on a plastic hanger hanging off the showerhead. It'll be dry and clean for the next session.

I do not!!
I only take ice baths, so I smell okay from mid thigh down:D
Then I don't really have to worry about my clothes smelling.

I threw some oxyclean in with the "offensive" shirt and the smell did come out. I am going to try the baking soda solution as well--I prefer to keep my cleaning products on the non-toxic and biodegradable side. Thanks for all of the help!
