Yesterday was my first triathalon and I have to say it was awesome!! I had some doubts about the swim a few weeks before the race but I listened to the people here and at the race and just remembered to have fun!!!! My time was OK, just happy I finished and now I know what I have to work on!!! So heres to all of you for your encouragement..Thank You

Congratulations on finishing your first race! Have you decided on your next race --have you been bitten by the "tri bug?":)

I have been bitten. I have already signed up for a total immersion swim workshop and am looking forward to another sprint in September. I would love to do the 1/2 ironman next year at the Spirit of Racine which is where I completed my first, I wondering if it's too much and should keep doing a few more sprints but what do I have to loose???

First off, congrats! Not only did you finish, but you went and signed up for another--that's great!

I think a HIM in 1 year is realistic. You have nothing to lose -- though you may find yourself losing some pounds, inches, and self-doubts. :) Keep working out through the winter, find a good training program to start in the spring, learn about race nutrition, and you'll be fine. I would suggest doing an Olympic before the 1/2--maybe Elkhart Lake or Lake Geneva in June? Olys are big fun.

Nice job.
Hey, you can sign up for the Spirit of Racine HIM right now and get the early bird rate! :D

First off congratulations!! Going from Sprint to HIM would be fine, you just need to train. I went from 3 Sprints my first season to a IM the next so anything is possible.
