First race is next Sunday. I just received the mass email with more details & instructions about race day.... I can't describe the excitement and nervousness I feel--- and I'm not even at the starting line yet!!!!

You wouldn't happen to be doing the Musselman, would you?

I AM!!!! Well, I'm technically doing the "mini-Mussel" which is their sprint distance race, the Musselman is technically a HIM event.

Personally, I take a little bit of offence to them calling it the "mini-Mussel" I think that would be a great title for the kids race they have, but to refer to the sprint as 'mini' well, it just seems to denigrate the accomplish of the many people for whom it is their first race and for them, just do a triathlon, even if it is 'only' a sprint is a big deal.

But I suppose I should voice that concern to race management as those of you here do not have the power to affect any sort of change in that regard.

Maverick- are you coming up for it?? Know someone who is?

Yep, I'm doing the Half. Hopefully it's not in the 90s on Sunday- the weatherman said a heat wave was in the forecast :(... I should be wearing a UNC or US Army Jersey.

Naw- I think the weather is going to be nice. I just checked it again- they are calling for a high of 89 on Sunday. Yesterday they were only calling for a high of 85. Hopefully its doesn't deteriorate in the next couple of days!!!

If I see you out on the run course, I'll have to give you a cheer!!
