I just finished my second sprint triathlon today (WOOT WOOT!!) and i was so happy with my performance overall (except for trans) but my swim time was disapointing. I found myself pulling to the left ALOT like i would find myself so far out of the pack that i would have to swim at a sharp angle in to the right to get back into the pack which lost alot of time. What could be causing this?
How could i overcove it?

Are you breathing on just one side? i.e. your right hand side - i find that when i breathe every two strokes i start to swim off to the left. But in the pool it corrects itself because when i turn around to go back down the other way i breathe on the same side again so it just pushes me back to where i began.

the only way to improve this is to look up every few strokes and align your swim path with the swim markers. it takes some practice, but you get used to it.

Don't get back in line by cutting over on a sharp angle sight on the farthest bouy or finish line and head for it. It really does not matter which side you breathe on pick a far away item for your sighting and head for it or an item on shore far away at right angle to your body and keep it in your vision and you will swim straight.
